Pause For A Moment. Now Breathe.

Take a deep breath in.

Count to five.

One. Two. Three. Four. Five.

Now exhale.

Count to five again.

One. Two. Three. Four. Five.

And pause.

Focus on your breathing.

Feel your chest expand and contract.

Focus on those movements.

In and out. In and out. In and out. In and out.

Breathe in. Breathe out. Breathe in. Breathe out.

Hey! You’re okay.

Trust me. You’re okay.

I know that it’s difficult; the constant chatter of your mind.

I know you’re tired; of the dark thoughts and the constant fear.

I know you’re scared; of being hurt, yet again, by another person you trust.

But, it’s okay. You’re okay.

Right now, in this very moment, no matter where you are or what you’re doing, you’re okay.

And if you’re not okay, then I want you to believe that you will be okay.

Without darkness, there can’t be light.

When there’s sunshine, you can’t see the stars shine bright.

Just remember, you are in control.

You are capable.

You are okay.

This too shall pass.

It’s okay to be anxious.

It’s okay to be scared.

It’s okay to be skeptical.

It’s okay to be vulnerable.

It’s okay to be you; whoever you are.

Don’t be your biggest enemy.

Don’t be so harsh on yourself.

Don’t push away the people who love you.

Don’t let your demons take control of your life.

Take back control! You can!

I believe in you.

I’m just as scared as you.

I’m just as anxious as you.

I’m just as vulnerable as you.

But in this moment, we’re together in this fight; bound by invisible strings that connect our souls.

And we’ll be okay.

If not today, tomorrow.

Until then, let’s pause for a moment and take a long, deep breath.

And as we exhale, let’s remember the moments that matter.

Think about the time you spent chatting with your mom.

Think about the time you had a heart-to-heart with your dad.

Think about the moment where you were belly laughing with your best friend.

Think about the moment when you greedily gobbled down your favourite dessert.

Think about the moment when you kissed your partner for the first time.

Think about the moment you got that much awaited raise at work.

Think about all those moments, big and small, that make your life more meaningful.

And remember those moments when you think you’re losing the fight with your mind.

Let your memories guide you to safety.

Let your memories guide you to happiness.

Let your memories be your shield against the Dementors in your mind.

Fight; cause it isn’t over.

And when you’re tired, worn from battle, marred by scars; just breathe.

Pause for a moment. And then, breathe.

You will be okay.

If not today, tomorrow.
