Revival, Name Changes & New Beginnings

Hey there 🙂

If you’re new to my blog, welcome! And if you’ve been following me for a while, welcome back 🙂

It’s been over a year since I published my last blog post. It’s been a crazy year and so much has happened since then.

From completing a year at my job to going on so many crazy adventures with my bestie to two major haircuts, a LOT has happened.

So, I’m sure you must be wondering, “What’s up with her sudden appearance?”

Well, I thought it’s time to come back.

Truth be told, I’ve missed writing, a lot.

It’s been bothering me these last few months that I just abandoned this blog. So, I thought it’s time to go back to my first love: writing.

I’m sure you might be thinking that this is a shortlived return. Hopefully, it isn’t. But, let’s be honest, life is strange and weird and complex. Shit happens and, sometimes, you need to take a pause.

However, I will make an effort to post as often as possible, starting with at least two posts a month. This might not sound that great, but I’d rather start with achievable goals.

So, guys: I’m back! With a new name for the blog and a head full of ideas ❤

Hopefully, this is will be the beginning of a beautiful new journey.

I promise a full-length post soon. Stay tuned until then.

Loads of love & light,

Rukmani ❤

P.S.: How do you guys like the new name and tagline? Let me know in the comments.

P.P.S: I’m currently obsessed with breathin by Ariana Grande. It’s playing on loop.

Just keep breathin’ and breathin’ and breathin’ and breathin’
And oh, I gotta keep, I keep on breathin’

So, check it out, maybe?

Progress Report 2017

Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning. ~ Benjamin Franklin

3 days to go for October to end; with that, we inch closer to the end of 2017.

2017 has been a year full of ups and downs, but I can honestly say that I have seen myself grow leaps and bounds — as a person, friend, and woman — this year.

It’s needless to say that without struggle there shall never be any success. Failure is the stepping stone towards success, right?

With just two months left in the calendar year, I wanted to do a quick check on the goals I set for myself at the beginning of the year.

On January 8, 2017, I published a post where I set down 10 goals for the year. Let’s look at how much progress I’ve made.

A Hint of Wisdom #lettertoself

Dear Rukmani,

Sometimes the thing you need to get yourself into a better mindset is a little change. Welcome it, allow it to help you grow. ~Anonymous

Change, the one constant in all our lives; the one you’ve been maneuvering around for over a decade.

So much has changed hasn’t it?

Life. Work. Friends. You.

A long and tiring journey; but, one that’s been so worth it.

Over the last 1.5 years, you’ve loved, lost, discovered, forgotten and experienced a multitude of wonderful and horrific things.

You could say that life has taken a complete 360 degree shift altogether.

And through those moments, good and bad, you’ve had so many epiphanies.

Missed Opportunity – Part 2

Note: If you’d like, listen to Ed Sheeran‘s cover of “Make it Rain” while reading. You’ll get a different feel of the story.

Pia and Karan were both slightly flushed from the hug.

Feet shuffling, eyes down, Pia stood in place for a few seconds.

Meanwhile, Karan stood with his hands in his pocket and a tiny grin spread across his face.

Realising they were still standing in the hallway, Pia said, “Hey! Why are we standing in the hall? Come in!” and walked ahead. Quietly, he followed her in. They walked past the living room into her tiny bedroom.

Missed Opportunity – Part 1

*Beep* *Beep* *Beep*

The alarm started to ring loudly, just as the clock struck 10.

Sleepy and cranky, Pia pulled her phone out from beneath her pillow and hit snooze. With a satisfied smile, she returned the phone to its hiding spot and snuggled into her pillow.

30 minutes later the alarm buzzed again.

Pia slid her hand underneath her pillow, groping for her phone. Seconds later, her hand brushed the hard, outer cover of her phone and she pulled it out in a flash. In an automatic gesture, she hit snooze yet again.

This time though, she peeked at the time.

“10:30 am”

Her screen displayed brightly.

Groaning loudly, Pia thought, “Shit. He’ll be here in 90 minutes. Get up! Get up! Get up!”
